Due to the way the space operates we don’t have set open times and are reliant on Keyholders opening the space. as our membership grows, we are finding that we are open more than not.
If you are a member of our discord server then you will be able to see when the space is open or closed.
Alternatively, if you wish to have a look around the space, please feel free to book a tour and we will endeavour to ensure that a Keyholder is on site to show you around.
Anyone aged 16+, we will run family days & education visits for all ages.
As a full member, you can come and go as you please, you will have 24/7 access after a designated period, you will get first dibs on training and events and receive discounts etc.
We hold open days/evenings monthly where you can come and look around the space and see if its for you alternately you can use the book a tour form.
Unfortunately not, for insurance and safety reasons no animals will be allowed on site. This includes emotional support gorillas.
REFUND AND CANCELLATION POLICY
If you need to cancel a workshop:
We try our best to price our workshops fairly and offer good value for money. We therefore have a clear non-refundable policy to ensure that we cover our costs and the ongoing viability of the workshop.
We do appreciate that sometimes-unforeseen circumstances may mean that you can’t attend a workshop so we are happy for you to send along a friend to take your place, we will need their name and contact details prior to the workshop.
If you contact us at least 14 days in advance of the start date of the workshop, then we can offer a transfer to the same workshop on an alternative date, providing there are places available or a workshop is planned. If there are no suitable future dates, we can provide a voucher to be used for a future workshop booking.
Please note that there are no make-ups for missed sessions if the workshop is over more than one session.
Our right to cancel a workshop
Should we need to cancel a workshop due to unforeseen circumstances, we will aim to give you as much notice as possible of the cancellation. Unfortunately, we cannot accept any liability for travel or other costs.
NO, membership fees are due monthly so you can go month by month with no penalty for leaving and returning several months later after a break.
No, MAKE Gosport is a creative space there are very few rules, the first one being follow safety instructions and the second and last one Be excellent to each other. Our ethos is “Don’t make us make a rule for this” and “Do-ology” – If you want to do something, do it! – all we ask is that you are sure it wont upset another member.
After you have been a member of the makerspace for 3 calendar months (not including any prorate period) and you have visited the space at least 10 times within that time frame you will we granted keyholder status this will allow you to come and go when you like.
There are very few times that we completely shut the space. These will be communicated to you if and when this happens.
Yes, this is an essential tool that is integrated into the space. discord is used for all communication within the space and is therefore vital to how we work. If you are unable to use discord, then this doesn’t mean you cant be a member but will make things harder when trying to get information or stay up to date.
Yes, as a member of the makerspace you are able to sign in guests four times a month.
Your guests will be your responsibility and are unable to wonder off and use any machines within the space unless they are assisting you with your projects it should also be noted that guests are the responsibility of the member that signs them in and should not be left unsupervised with in the space.
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer “Day Tickets” due to the ad-hoc nature of the open times and insurance.
